I have already picked out the project I will be making my pal Agatha Vablatsky for HSKS7 so I ran over and picked out the yarn I needed. They even had a lovely color of the same yarn called for in the pattern! I think this will be the very first project I have ever used the recommended yarn for. No wait there are my Biscotte & Cie sock club patterns,(Captain Jack and Trelawney's Bag [Ravelry Links]) but that's different they came with the pattern.
I was being so good! I picked out the yarn I needed and as it was being wound into balls by the lovely, cheerful, and sincerely friendly Gail I wandered the shop a little more and found more of the lovely hand painted Pagewood Farms Yukon sock yarn in the color Navajo. Yukon is a lovely bamboo merino nylon blend that feels like heaven in your hands and on your feet! And they always have amazing different blues. I made these Rattlesnake Creek Socks with the color Denim. I think this is my 3rd hank in a different blue. Les Sigh! I can't help myself! I kept myself at the counter until she told me total for the yarn I needed and gave in and ran over grabbed the yarn I coveted almost grabbed 5 other colors (but didn't) and ran back to the counter and she checked me out. Then I made comment about my 2 sets of interchangeables wich led to a discussion of my Denise needles and my Knitpicks Harmony interchangeables, and my disappointment with the Harmony wood join. Then she offers to show me her set of the new Addi Clicks! Oh God! I now know what the Holy Grail of knitting needles looks like! I believe I will have to get another set of interchangeables... Perhaps I can regift one of my other sets to make myself feel as though I need a new set? But no matter what I do I will be getting the Addi Clicks. They have a spring loaded join so there is no screwing or unscrewing they take a bit of deliberate force to come undone. Wonderfully flexible cord that isn't too thin and isn't too thick and Gail says it's the cord they are going to be putting on all their needles from now on so there is another reason to buy MORE Addis for knitting socks... Ack!
But I had a really great time and it was so relaxing to be there without my kids! It was nice and busy and lovely wool and bamboo fumes have come home with me! And some lama (tease tease Agatha!)
Now I need to go hide this new yarn in my stash before my husband notices me fondling it.

weird I love their light blues and I don't usualy like lighter blues... And look at the swirls of the palest browns and whites.... yummy
